Zhongshan Park is a historical park located near Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It was originally built in the 15th century during the Ming Dynasty as an imperial garden and was renamed in honor of Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshan), the founding father of modern China, in 1928.

The park covers an area of 24.7 hectares and features beautiful gardens, traditional pavilions, and historical monuments. It is known for its peony garden, which blooms in late April and early May, and its annual chrysanthemum exhibition in the fall.

The most famous landmark in the park is the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which was built in 1928 to commemorate Sun Yat-sen. The park also includes the Altar of Land and Grain, which was used by emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to worship the gods of land and grain, and the Temple of Agriculture, which was built in the 15th century.

Zhongshan Park is best explored by following a route that takes you around the main landmarks. Start at the Southern Gate and proceed to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.

Key attractions include the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which was built in 1928 to commemorate Sun Yat-sen, the Altar of Land and Grain, which was used by emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to worship the gods of land and grain, the Temple of Agriculture, which was built in the 15th century, and the Peony Garden, which blooms in late April and early May.

Don't miss the Zhongshan Park Peony Festival, which is held every year in late April and early May and features thousands of peonies in full bloom, and the Zhongshan Park Chrysanthemum Exhibition, which is held every year in the fall and features beautiful chrysanthemums.
